Organised Chaos captures that pre night out moment - the getting-ready ritual that, for me, was often the best part of the entire evening. Over the years, makeup has served so many purposes in my life: at times it’s been a mask, especially during periods when I struggled with severe acne (thank you, Accutane); other times it’s been a way to celebrate the features I love, to express myself, to lift how I feel day to day.

The reasons we reach for makeup are endless, but the message I hold onto most is that it’s an incredibly powerful tool for self-expression and that’s the heart of this piece.

I wanted this painting to reflect the contrast between how put-together we may look and how chaotic things can feel behind the scenes. Hot Mess as a collection is all about the many roles we juggle in our lives; being good at our jobs, showing up for friends, navigating motherhood, being a supportive partner, a loving daughter, a dependable sibling. We’re constantly shifting between hats, and yes, sometimes we feel like a hot mess but why is that a bad thing?

UK shipping over £20 is free! For anywhere else in the world, please get in touch and I can work out a cost for you 💌
