Weekend mornings are sacred to me; a small ritual I look forward to all week. I’m a firm believer in romanticising the everyday and for me it begins with those first quiet moments: a coffee or a matcha, a sweet treat, or an indulgent extra hour in bed with fresh sheets. A gentle pause before the world speeds up.
This painting captures a single moment from that ritual. I leaned into a softer, more muted palette to give it a dreamlike quality, something cosy, slow, and tender. Amid this calm, I couldn’t resist adding a nod to 21st-century life, mostly because it gave me an excuse to paint some cute laptop stickers.
And of course, there’s a leopard. I have a real obsession with them (I even have one tattooed on my arm). Leopard print has always felt deeply satisfying to me and I’m perpetually drawn to the way patterns in nature find their way into our everyday aesthetic.
