Mon Chéri is all about beginning and ending your day with quiet luxuries. My bedside table has always been a special place - home to my current read and the little essentials that make me feel more human at the start and end of each day. I wanted this piece to feel unapologetically girly and deeply real, capturing that soft, familiar corner of life we all return to.
It’s also one of the more detailed works in the collection. I painted it over several weeks while curled up on the sofa rather than in my studio, and because of that, it holds an added layer of intimacy. Every brushstroke feels personal, unhurried and full of comfort.
It still makes me smile every time I see it and my hope is that it brings its future owner the same quiet joy.
